The Duskbloods Three Maps at Launch
Lowarno City, plus two Lands of Dusk we have not seen in full yet.
The Duskbloods is launching with three Lands of Dusk according to FromSoftware’s preview coverage. Lowarno City is the only map available in the Closed Network Test; the other two are design-targeted but visually under wraps until the 2026 retail release.
Director Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed during the Tokyo press interview that the three-map scope matches FromSoftware’s design philosophy of dense, varied battlefields. Each Land of Dusk is meant to feel as large as a Soulsborne area, with interconnected regions, multiple elevations, and lore carried by setting details. Pair this overview with Lowarno City for the only fully mapped area today and Maps hub for broader context.
Why three maps
The Duskbloods is a multiplayer-only title. Variety in maps keeps matchmaking fresh without overwhelming the team with endless content to balance. Each map supports the same six-to-eight minute phase structure, the same Ritual Sites, and the same Trespasser bosses, but the regions, lore, and visual language differ. The press build’s experience of running Lowarno for three days suggests that map literacy becomes a meta in itself, and three maps lets that meta cycle without becoming stale.
From a development standpoint, three maps also lets FromSoftware push each Land of Dusk to the scale of a Soulsborne area. The press preview emphasised that Lowarno City alone has foggy swamps, a towering cathedral, dirty city streets, crowded rooftops, poisonous sewers, and a bridge running through the middle of the map. Each region offers unique verticality and combat opportunities.
Lowarno City — confirmed
The single playable map in the Network Test is Lowarno City, a gothic Victorian setting that blends industrial grit with religious architecture. Detailed coverage lives on the Lowarno City guide. Key features:
- A cathedral with high-vertical side chapels.
- A bell tower that serves as the central bell-ringing Event target.
- Underground ruins accessible from the cathedral and from street-level grates.
- A poisonous marsh that punishes sustained stays.
- Crowded rooftops that snake across the map, rewarding quadruple-jump mobility.
- City streets mixed with PvE Trespasser spawns.
- A single bridge crossing the river that bisects the map.
Lowarno is also the only map we can confirm in detail. Treat any specifics about the other two maps as design intent, not confirmed facts.
The other two lands of dusk
FromSoftware has not publicly revealed screenshots, regions, or names for the second and third maps. Press interviews cited multi-era aesthetics ranging from early-modern to gothic victorian. The most likely scenarios:
- An early-modern train yard that emphasises industrial thrusters, mechanical constructs, and larger open spaces. This matches the gothic-Victorian influence and gives the game an outdoor contrast to Lowarno.
- A darker, more enclosed setting like a vault or crypt, where vertical play is reduced and close-quarters combat rewards skilled players.
Without official confirmation, treat any guesswork about the unrevealed maps as speculation. The retail 2026 launch may include more than three maps if FromSoftware chooses to expand the lineup; the Tokyo press interview only confirmed that at least three are planned.
How map variety affects the meta
Press playtesters reported that map knowledge quickly becomes a meta-skill. After a few hours with the same map, regular players develop rotations that newcomers cannot match. The introduction of multiple maps will rotate the meta so that map literacy cannot become permanent advantage.
The implication is that players who queue consistently across the launch window will spend the first weeks building map literacy in each Land of Dusk. Pair map runs with Builds planning and Kin and Summons selection so that you internalise both combat flow and positioning.
Map voting and selection
FromSoftware has not confirmed a map-voting system for the retail launch. The Network Test build appears to use a random selection at queue time. Watch the official channels and press coverage for updates on whether map voting lands before launch.
Frequently asked questions
Are the unrevealed maps part of seasonal updates?
FromSoftware has not confirmed that future maps will arrive as seasonal content, but the multiplayer-first design philosophy suggests the possibility. Post-launch map updates would extend the life of the meta.
Does each map support Duos Mode?
Yes. All three Lands of Dusk support both solo and Duos queues. Duos Mode is a separate format where four teams of two share a pool of Virtue and weapon enhancements; the Phase IV finale pits the two best teams against each other in a 2v2.
Will map size vary?
Press coverage did not confirm whether each Land of Dusk has the same scale or whether some will be larger or smaller. The retail launch should clarify this.
